Our journey began in January 2018 in a small church that we were visiting in Algood TN for a weekend revival service where Nathan Morris of Shake the Nations ministries was speaking. It was during this weekend that the Holy Spirit began to download into me the blueprint of what is now known as City of Refuge. The clarion call was sounded that weekend, and we answered.
This call has taken us far away from our families and the place we once called home, however, we know that the best place in life to be is in the complete and total center of God's will and call on your life- so here we are!!! Servants that are ready and willing to go and do as God calls and directs. Our daily mission is to push back the darkness that is trying to cover this city and to expand the Kingdom of God here on earth.
There are many ways to get involved with City of Refuge. There are the obvious ways- volunteering your time to help cook and distribute the food and items we take out, assisting in helping to secure the items that we take out weekly, or by writing the handwritten cards that so many of our fiends look forward to getting each week and there are the financial ways to be involved as well.
However, the one way that each and every single one of you who read this can help is PRAYER!!! We covet the prayers of the saint's more than anything else- Ephesians 6:12 says it best-"for we know that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places".
We firmly believe and stand on the fact that where God guides- he provides and there is always provision for the vision.
We here at City of Refuge feel that God has guided us to Central Florida for such a time as this. We feel that he has called us to begin this ministry in the following counties: Polk County, Osceola County, Orange County and Brevard County. We know that as God provides and continues to open the doors for this ministry, we will be expanding the areas that we serve.
At City of Refuge we exist for one purpose- “to reach the lost so that they maybe called Trees of Righteouness- the planting of the Lord that he may be glorified”. Isaiah 61:1-3
We offer HOPE by helping the displaced identify the barriers in their lives and connecting them with resources that are available at COR as well as resources in the local community. We provide a nutritious well-balanced meal, snacks, clothing, toiletry and job skills to assist with overcoming these barriers.

Our names are Jeff and Stephanie Lambert-Cartner. Together we share the vision and calling of City of Refuge. It is our prayer and deepest desire to always faithfully answer the Call of God on our lives.
